Yorkshire Seniors Golf2024

Welcome to the Yorkshire County Seniors Home Page

Such are the high standards of the Yorkshire Senior Team, that winning the 2023 Northern Counties League and finishing runner up in the Northern Counties Big 6 qualifier was deemed as an unsuccessful season in the eyes of the majority of the team and management. However, there were a number of high points in the season. New players into the squad in the form of Messrs Kitching and Wiltshire were a great addition. They showed other new potential team members the template for breaking into the side by competing well in the early season team events and the scratch events held at Hessle and Garforth.

We look forward to seeing how the other newly qualified players fare in the spring time ahead of the first league match of the season at Royal Lytham and St Annes against Lancashire.

Alwoodley and Pannal hosted the English Seniors Stroke Play Championship in June. Yorkshire players fared well with a number making the cut and finishing in respectable places overall.

Looking forward to 2024, the squad will be made up of approximately 24 players. As usual, we will be starting the season with a get together at Scarcroft in April. Team Captain Andy King will be sending out invitations to this event in due course. Following this, Andy will be selecting the team for our only pre-season friendly against Lincolnshire. He will then have the unenviable task of picking the team for the first Northern Counties League match over in Lancashire.
