The Yorkshire squad went to the Robin Hood G.C. in Solihull full of optimism, and in their first match in the round-robin series, played in bad weather, got off to the perfect start with a 9-0 victory over Worcestershire. Day two proved different, with a very tight match with the team from Devon, which could have been won, but finally ended in a 4-5 loss. The last match, against the table leaders, BB&O, was different again, and the very strong BB&O side, including 2 internationals, emerged convincing winners, of both the match and the finals, by 7.5-1.5. Yorkshire ended in a creditable third place, a fine way to finish the season.
