Ben Brown wins Fairhaven Trophy, beating his teammate, Dylan Shaw-Radford into second place after some superb golf by both players.
We had 9 Yorkshire boys in the event, with 4 making it through to the final 36 holes stroke play on Sunday. Those four were Ben Brown leading on 7 under par which included an equalling amateur course record of 66 held by our very own Ben Schmidt in 2019 with Dylan in second on 5 under, Jake Wallis on level par in eleventh position with Josh Berry in 29th on 5 over. The last 2 rounds saw some sparkling golf from all four players with Ben holding his own to finish the day on 10 under. Dylan unfortunately could not hole any putts in the afternoon round, but still played extremely well to finish at 5 under. The best round of the day was from Josh Berry, a brilliant 7 under to post an amateur course record of 65 to move him into 4th position, a rise of 25 places. Finally our Boys Captain Jake Wallis with a final round of 3 under to finish 8th. I must say this is an outstanding achievement with these guys beating some of the top players within Europe, well done to all four players. Team Yorkshire in a great place!
