38Pts wins CM Event @ Halifax
Thank you for supporting the event yesterday. The weather was horrendous, but the course and the land that the course is on was excellent. It is a long time since we have endured such a bad day weather wise,at one of our County Members events! Let us hope that the weather at our final four meetings of 2024 is much kinder.
We had 76.5 pairs taking part – great support from the membership yet again, Halifax GC and the team from YUGC – Bob, Graham and Howard.
A very big thank you to Antonia (Halifax GC member) who played alongside Steve Gledhill at 3.20 pm – a big help!
The club did a super job for us all yesterday and I heard lots of compliments being paid about the layout and standard of the course. Despite the weather, I hope that you all enjoyed the day and the company of your playing partners.
There were only 12 pairs who scored par or better on a very difficult day for golf.
Well done to all players and especially the prize winners (see below):

A pair who played yesterday scored 39 points, but unfortunately could not receive a prize as there was an issue on the number of qualifying cards that had been played. I was saddened not to be able to present them with a prize, but the terms of competition clearly state the need to have 6 competition / qualifying sores on your WHS record within the last 12 months. All leading cards are checked to ensure we allocate prizes correctly.
Thank you Gents for your support of Yorkshire Union and the County Members.
