“Hello Hallowes . . . .”
Having been cancelled in June due to flash flooding, it was good news to finally get the County Members Seniors underway at Hallowes.
This time it was dawn to dusk sunshine, with a challenging, blustery, breeze.
44 pairs teed up for this re-arranged fixture, and although there were hole closures due to course development work, 18 holes were made possible due to some temporary greens.
Those member who played commented on how excellent the course was playing, with excellent fairways and good greens. Some, who were playing Hallowes for the first time, were so impressed, they said they would make a point of returning and playing again.
Of the 44 pairs who played, 14 pairs scored 40 or more points.
43 points was needed to make it on to the leader board.
It was Messrs Guest and Hobson, of Tankersley Park Golf Club, who prevailed with 46 points, with Messrs Illingworth and Robertson almost catchimg them with 45 points.
