“The Hills are Alive to the sound of . . . .”
The scenary and hills are spectacular at Skipton Golf Club. The backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales is electric!
And so was the weather, with a slightly overcast morning turning into a bright, sunny and warm afternoon
The very light winds provided excellent scoring conditions for the 100 County Members who took part in the County Members Autumn Meeting Number 1.
Of the 50 pairs who played, 16 pairs equalled or bettered 40 points, which is very excellent.
Four pairs managed to return scores of 43 points, with the lead changing hands several times during the day, but it was Fulford member Dave Kelly, along with his grandson, Tom, who topped the day with 44 points.
They were very deserved winners, given that they played off handicaps of 5 and 4 respectively. They had 9 gross threes between them and 6 birdies in all.
