Any member of any club affiliated to the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs may become a County member applying online here or by completing an application form and submitting it to the Secretary of the County Members Association along with the appropriate one-off life membership fee, currently £40. County Rules 2(A)b and 27 state that only members of ‘THE UNION’ can be County Members and to be a member of the Union it is necessary to be a male playing member of an affiliated Club [2(A)b].
You are also entitled to purchase and wear the Association tie and a range of County Members merchandise.
Once you have become a County Member you can enter any of the ten competitions run by the Association each year (Seniors events restricted to players over 55 years of age on the day of the competition). These events are held at courses throughout Yorkshire so you will enjoy a variety of different types of courses and challenges. Eight of the competitions are Fourball Better Ball while two of the events are team AM-AM’S (team of four members) so you enter as a pair with one of your golfing friends, not necessarily from the same club, which means the events are great social events.
Prizes are presented, usually by the County President, to the top six scores on the day (better balls) and the top three (AM-AMs).
