Scheme Rules

The affairs of the scheme shall be conducted and managed by The Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs Ltd, on behalf of both organisations. and shall have the power to make rules and to vary such rules from time to time as may seem expedient through the Board of the Union Company.

  1. Membership is confined to all Playing Members of Clubs who are;
  • current members of a Club which has registered to participate in the scheme; and
  • whose Club is affiliated to The Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs or the Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association in respect of whom such Clubs pay an annual subscription to the National and County Golf Unions; and
  • in possession of a WHS Handicap Index.
  1. Social, House and Non-Playing Members of such Clubs are not eligible for membership;
  2. Application for a County Card is made by the member registering on the appropriate YUGC/YLCGA website and subsequently completing the County Card process using their mobile phone and the GolfGenius app. All Club Secretaries/Managers will be supplied with the details of how to obtain a County Card;
  3. The Card is non-transferable and is for the sole use of the person named on the card;
  4. The Card may only be accepted once per Club in any one year;
  5. To avoid disappointment, all cardholders MUST contact the Club they wish to visit prior to arrival, and tee times booked in advance wherever possible;
  6. All players MUST adhere to the host Club’s guidelines relating to etiquette, dress code and local rules;
  7. This Card may not be accepted for groups larger than four;
  8. Any misuse of the Card may be reported directly to the card holder’s home Club;
  9. The Card is valid from 1st April to 31st March; and
  10. Clubs can register as a participating club by completing and submitting a Club Registration form; this only needs to be completed once, and continues until cancelled by the club.
  11. Clubs are free to impose restrictions on visitor numbers and times, including periods of the year, but must offer a discounted green fee rate for County Card holders, which must be lower than the rate which would normally apply at the date/time.
  12. Enforcement of the rules is at the sole discretion of each individual Golf Club.
